After watching a heart-wrenching documentary, I became inspired to write a song dedicated to those who suffered through the Dust Bowl, lost everything, and headed West to forge a new life. This song follows one family's journey and travels. Wasn't sure about this when I started, but I feel pretty happy with the results. Hope you like it, as well!

I roughed out this poem while I was in college, and seemed to revisit it every several years since, until it managed to say just what I wanted, nothing more, nothing less. While its title conveys my feelings about smoking, I didn't want it to come off preachy, but rather insightful. Hope I succeeded. As always, you be the judge. Cheers!
This song is dedicated to all those good souls out there who are engaged in a meaningful search for a partner to share their lives with. It can be terribly frustrating, to be sure. My hope is that these words will give you the strength to carry on, without settling or compromising your integrity or the qualities you need to thrive in a relationship. Keep up the good fight, and trust that your soulmate is busily looking for you, as well!
01/09/16 UPDATE: After further editing, this lyric became the recording, "Mouthful Of Dust," so the lyric was thereafter deleted. Please take a moment to enjoy the song. Cheers! |
