Biography

I grew up in Southern California, but moved to the Central Coast in 1980, because my stepdad secured a job with a military contractor at nearby Vandenberg AFB. But my sense of adventure got the better of me, so shortly after graduating high school, I joined the U.S. Army and hoped to see the world.
My military career took me many places: Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and through it all, I was usually accompanied by my battered and beloved Takamine guitar. In fact, over the years, I somehow managed to write over fifty songs and even played a number of live gigs, both here and abroad.
In 1986, I left the Army to pursue college, first earning an A.A. from Cuesta College, and later, a B.A. in English from Berkeley. When I graduated, the country was in the middle of a recession. Married, and with a newborn, I returned to the only thing I knew: soldiering. Once I re-entered the Army, I stayed the course, serving until 2005, when I decided to make a dramatic career change. So, I returned to school to become a Psychiatric Technician, and worked in that capacity for the State of California until meeting my beloved Tamara in 2012 and finding the courage to love again.
I have two wonderful sons, Dylan and Jonah, who are becoming fine young men, and about whom I couldn't be prouder. I now live in Vancouver, BC, with my beloved Tamara, and we have embarked on a journey of love, healing, laughter, and self-discovery. She is my divine counterpart, my best friend, and my heartsong. It is my greatest hope to share a well-lived, well-loved life with her till the end of days.
