There's no getting around it: divorces are excruciating, especially when there are children involved. And, through it all, it's the little things that keep us going. Case in point: while lamenting the end of my marriage, I found myself sitting on the back porch a lot, considering what may lay ahead and feeling terribly alone. In those moments, my only company was a statue of St. Francis standing in the garden. So one day, I envisioned a man who had lost everything and tried to get even by stealing his wife's cherished St. Francis statue. And a song was born. Mind you, I never stole it--that statue still sits quietly in her garden to this day. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't think about it from time to time! ;-)
